Hi! I'm Lori. Not a psychologist or a life coach. I have a degree in Education and a passion for researching all things mental health and parenting. I'm a mom of 4. A 12 year old, 3 adult children, and 1 son in-law. I spent 25 years trying to fix all of my children's problems, manage their emotions, and shield them from pain. As they became adults, I continued that pattern. I worried constantly and felt that I couldn't be happy unless everyone's lives were running smoothly. Meanwhile, my kids were genuinely starting to dislike me. I was struggling to get out of bed every day. I was sick all of the time. And I had chronic pain.
By the grace of God, I discovered the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous program for Codependency. I've spent the last year in support groups and working the steps. This is a truly magical program. It holds the secrets to happiness, healing, recovery, and parenting.You will learn how to be a better parent to adult children, how to become the best version of yourself, how to mend relationships with your adult children, and how to heal even if your adult child isn't ready. It 's about getting honest with yourself, and surrendering to a higher power. If everyone did a 12 steps program the world would be a better place!
I've taken the 12 steps and adapted them to Parenting Adult Children and Healing from Estrangement. I feel like I've been given one of the greatest blessings of my life and I want as many people as possible to experience it!
